Activities

National Service Scheme (NSS)
Motto : MOTTONOT ME, BUT YOU
Aim : To  Develop student’s personality through community service.
The NSS of New  Mangala college of Nursing is independent body formed with the objective to serve the society without bias. Student being the part of NSS  understands the community in which they work, gain skills in mobilizing community participation, practice national integration and social harmony.  The activities held by the NSS students are: Blood donation, Plantation and   Shramadaan, etc.,
Red Cross
The Indian Red Cross society is a voluntary, Humanitarian Organization, its activities are being directed towards “Prevention of Diseases”, “Improvement of Health and Migration of Suffering”.
Student Nurses Associations (SNA)
The SNA of Mangala School of Nursing is platform for the student’s welfare and development. SNA is a independent wing which conduct various curricular and co-curricular activities.
Extra Curricular ActivitiesAlong with the curricular activities, various co-curricular activities are conducted throughout the year. Course begins with the course inauguration and an orientation programme. We celebrate Deepavali, Christmas, Onam, Independence Day.

Nurses week and Nurses day will be celebrated in the month of May.

Community awareness activities like Anti-drug abuse day, Anti-tobacco day, breast feeding week, WHO day, AIDS day, Mental Health day etc. Students are encouraged to take part in various activities.

Field visits are arranged to provide enriched learning experiences.
Ongoing teaching programmes are carried out in the form of CNE (Continuing Nursing Education) to update the students knowledge and skill.

Vacation
Annual vacation (30 days) will be given as per the pre planned schedule.
Health ServicesStudents are expected to undergo medical checkup annually. In case of any illness , they will be provided treatment at our parent hospital.
Anti-Ragging“Ragging” means the following: Any disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any other student, indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or a junior student or asking the students to do any act or perform something which such student will not in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or a junior student.

Punishable ingredients of Ragging 

  • Abetment to ragging;
  • Criminal conspiracy to rag;
  • Unlawful assembly and rioting while ragging;
  • Public nuisance created during ragging;
  • Violation of decency and morals through ragging;
  • Injury to body, causing hurt or grievous hurt;
  • Wrongful restraint;
  • Wrongful confinement;
  • Use of criminal force;
  • Assault as well as sexual offences or even unnatural offences;
  • Extortion;
  • Criminal trespass;
  • Offences against property;
  • Criminal intimidation;
  • Attempts to commit any or all of the above mentioned offences against the victim(s);
  • All other offences following from the definition of “Ragging”.
